The 28th of June, 29th of June, and 1st of July was a remarkable day for the Award family in Nigeria.
Over 800 young people from 76 Government Secondary Schools across the Six education districts in Lagos were celebrated for their diligence, perseverance, determination, and resilience towards completing the Bronze level of the Award.
The atmosphere was filled with joy as the Honorable Commissioner of Education, Lagos State Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo presented Awards of Recognition to teachers who excelled exceptionally in their role as Adult mentors providing guidance and support to help the young people achieved the Bronze Award.
The commissioner hailed teachers for shaping humanity. She advised the Bronze Award recipients to use creativity to proffer solutions to the nation’s challenges.
“The life you are going to live requires skills. You should be creative and be problem solvers. You will be problem solvers because you are going to solve our problems: water, food, poverty, political apathy, and corruption”.
The event which was attended by principals and officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Education was also attended by Mrs. Folake Fawunmi & Mrs. Daniella UIjlenhoed, members of the Board of Trustees of the International Award for Young People Nigeria; Mr. Rasheed Bolarinwa, Head Corporate Communications Polaris Bank Limited, Mr. Wale Arowojolu, Corporate Social Responsibility Polaris Bank Limited and Mr. Tanko Olaseni, Head Monitoring and Enforcement Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority.
